We are currently looking for a Business Rates Manager to support at our Local Government Partnership with Peterborough City Council.
About the role:
If you are looking for a new challenge where there is variety of work and the opportunity to further develop your skills and experience this is the role for you! As Business Rates Manager you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the billing and recovery of Business Rate income, liaising with the Local Taxation Manager to ensure quality outcomes against our Key Performance Indicators. Your key objectives will be to identify and communicate priorities to the team to maximise the income due to our client Peterborough City Council whilst ensuring that customer enquiries are dealt with accurately and within agreed timescales.
On a day to day basis, you will be required to provide high level technical advice and support on legislative issues, policy, procedure and any other matter concerned with delivering our services effectively whilst also managing the relationship with any third parties supporting the team with their collection activities.
We are also looking for the successful candidate to identify and implement service improvements and manage performance in their team through regular 1:1’s, team meetings, coaching and training sessions.
We are looking for a pragmatic and innovative individual who is driven to succeed and support further improvements in performance of our Business Rates Team. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and have demonstrable experience within a busy Collection or Enforcement environment and can bring passion and enthusiasm to the role.
You will have detailed knowledge and understanding of Non-Domestic Rating legislation and be able to guide and advise staff as appropriate. IRRV qualifications are desirable.
