The Role

The Revenues Manager role is part of the Revenues and Benefits Service Management Team.  The Revenues Manager is responsible for managing the day to day running of the Revenues Teams.

The Revenues Manager reports directly to the Revenues and Benefits Service Manager within the Revenues and Benefits Service. 

The Revenues and Benefits Service provides vital statutory services to the Council in the assessment and collection of Council Tax and Business Rates and assessment and payment of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support.  These are challenging times in Revenues and Benefits due to

  • Increased pressure to maintain our high collection rates
  • The continued requirement to process benefit applications accurately and quickly
  • The application of different charging polices
  • Changing customer expectations and channel shift
  • Welfare reform changes and the introduction of Universal Credit.   

The Person

We would expect candidates to be ambitious Revenues professionals with substantial experience of working in a Revenues and Benefits environment who are seeking to further their career within Revenues and Benefits.  As well as having in depth knowledge of Revenues legislation we would expect candidates to evidence a successful track record of team and performance management.  The successful candidate will help to drive through our change programme for the Revenues Team as we continue to provide new ways of accessing and managing the service.  This is a great opportunity for a forward-thinking Revenues professional to become actively involved at an exciting time for Revenues and Benefits.
