Here at Serco we’re looking for a Business Rates Team Leader to join our Revenues Team; working in partnership with Peterborough City Council.

As Business Rates Team Leader you will manage all aspects of the billing and recovery of Business Rate income. On a day to day basis, you will be required to provide high level technical advice and guidance on legislative issues, policy, procedure and any other matter concerned with delivering our services effectively whilst also managing the relationship with any third parties, assisting the team with their collection activities.
You'll also identify and implement service improvements and manage performance of the team through regular 1:1’s, team meetings, coaching and training sessions.
What you'll need to do the role;
We are looking for a pragmatic and innovative individual who is driven to succeed and support further improvements in performance of our Business Rates Team. You'll have a strong background and experience within a busy collections or enforcement environment bringing passion and enthusiasm to the role. You'll have detailed knowledge and understanding of Non-Domestic Rating legislation and be able to guide and advise staff as appropriate. IRRV qualifications are desirable.
Our service is heavily customer focussed and we are therefore looking for a candidate who have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You'll promote good practice within the team whilst building good working relationships internally and with our key stakeholders.
