Westmoreland are a provider of Specialsied Supported Housing for customers with disabilities who are receving personal care from a commissioned care provider. Our rents are in the supported exempt category and we are recruiting a specialist in this field. The role is to ensure that the claims for all of our existing properties and new developments are in payment and any queries and challenges from our Local Authorities are resolved. 

Your role will be to direct, lead and manage the provision of high quality, cost-effective administration of Housing Benefit in order to maximise income collection, and to lead and support initiatives to facilitate change and organisational improvement, in relation to Housing Benefit and self-funder income collection.

You will also be providing technical advice on all areas of Housing Benefit Regulations in relation to impacts on specialist supported housing, as well as providing additional technical advice in other areas of Local Authority liaison including Council Tax and Adult Social Care, acting in the best interests of the organisation and service users.

We currently have around 550 customers across 70 Local Authorities and are looking to grow our portfolio further over the next 3 year to around 800 customers.

We are a small team so are looking to find someone who not only has expereince of the supported exempt sector, but will fit into our great little team. We are based in Nottingham and envisage you needing to be in the office 2 days a week once you are up and running.
