The Role:

In this important role, you will join our busy Council Tax team responsible for the administration, collection and recovery of Council Tax for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. You will be an integral part of the team dealing with our diverse community via multi-channels including phone, email, face to face and post. You will update the Council Tax database in accordance with legislation and information received, always ensuring that your work conforms to the documented quantitative and qualitative targets.

 

You will ensure that each customer is provided with an excellent and compassionate customer service practising first contact resolution. A compassionate approach to every challenge is required as you assist people to pay their taxes in a manageable way and ensure that the council’s annual council tax collection rate target is achieved.

About You:

With previous experience of working in a Council Tax office or similar environment you will be a self-motivated individual who possesses good IT skills and the capability of writing easy to understand customer responses.

 

This is a hybrid working arrangement with 2 days a week in the office and 3 working from home so you must have a high level of flexibility and adaptability and have a positive attitude towards change.

 

You will have previously worked in a revenues and benefits office or a similar environment, have knowledge of Council Tax legislation and procedures, and be experienced in front-line customer contact, both by phone and in-person.
