The Revenues and Benefits Service has an exciting opportunity to recruit several Local Taxation Assessment and Processing Officers (Level 3) We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and highly motivated, customer focussed individuals able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. (2x36 hour posts - 1x18 hour post)

The service is responsible for the administration, assessments, and transactional processes in relation to Housing Benefits ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidance. An excellent working knowledge and proven experience of relevant legislation and working procedures is required. We are looking for someone with technical knowledge and good problem solving and decision-making skills with significant experience of assessing all aspects of Housing Benefit claims including Discretionary Housing Payments.

We have embraced new ways of working and hybrid working between home and work will be a feature of this role.

You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary.

Our technology platform and equipment allow you to connect and collaborate remotely which requires that you have in place good connectivity. This will be discussed during the recruitment process if support is required This role will require you to:

Calculate, record and process business transactions ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidance.

Analyse and assess data /information to determine outcomes in relation to the payment and/or collection of financial transactions.

Deal with inbound and outbound contact with customers via telephone, email or letter.

Ability to undertake visits as required.

Work to well defined standard business processes to analyse information and perform more complex tasks.

Be proactive in contributing to the achievement of statistical and qualitative performance targets.
