Cannock Chase District Council and Stafford Borough Council are committed to achieving excellence in the administration, billing and recovery of Council Tax from their shared Revenues Service

The following opportunity has arisen for a candidate with the appropriate skills, experience and commitment to join our service. Whilst the successful candidate will be based primarily in Cannock, you may be required on occasion to work at sites across the Cannock Chase and Stafford Borough areas.

Responsible for the effective management of a team dealing with Council Tax administration, billing and recovery across the whole of the administrative area of Cannock Chase Council and Stafford Borough Council, you must have substantial experience in all aspects of Council Tax with significant demonstrable experience at a Senior level.

The successful candidate will have a detailed knowledge and understanding of the legislation, statutory regulations, government guidance and codes of practice relating to all aspects of Local Authority Revenues.

You must also have the ability to lead, manage and motivate staff and to effectively communicate complex and frequently changing legislation.

The post holder will be required to perform the duties of the Principal Revenues Officer (Business Rates) as required and to deputise for the Revenues Manager in their absence.

Holding an IRRV professional membership or Management qualification would be desirable.

The postholder will be required to undergo a Baseline Personal Security Standard Check which includes a Basic DBS Disclosure and enhanced identity checks prior to appointment.
