We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Revenue & Benefits Assistant/Officer, depending on the skills, knowledge and experience you have.

The role includes maintaining and updating customers' Council Tax liabilities, calculating awards in accordance with our local working age Council Tax Reduction scheme, and recovering outstanding Council Tax and Housing Benefit Overpayments.

  You are a Teignbridge District Council fit if you:

  • Have a good standard of numeracy and English literacy skills.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Have good organisation and time managements skills.
  • Have great communication skills both verbally and in writing, with the ability to adapt to any given audience.
  • Have experience of using Microsoft based products and are able to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Are able to deal with enquiries, perform tasks accurately.
  • Having a basic understanding of Revenue and Benefit functions would be advantageous but is not essential as full training would be provided.
