The Role:
We are looking for a committed and capable Corporate Debt Officer to join our Transactional Services team. If you enjoy working with people, solving problems, and making a real difference in the community, this could be the perfect role for you.
What the Role Involves
You’ll be managing and recovering debts owed to the Council, ranging from council tax and sundry income to adult social care charges. It's a mix of financial know-how and good people skills—you'll negotiate repayment plans, offer guidance on financial support, and ensure recovery is done fairly and respectfully.
This is a role where your communication and judgement matter. You'll be speaking with residents, assessing financial situations, and supporting those in difficult circumstances. You'll also work on complex cases and may represent the Council in magistrates court.
