Revenues Court Officer

Grade 8 - £27,254 - £31,022 per annum

Full-time – 37 hours per week

Hybrid/ In Office as required – Hastings, East Sussex

Hastings Borough Council is looking for a confident and detail-oriented Revenues Court Officer to lead on court proceedings for unpaid Council Tax, Business Rates, and Housing Benefit Overpayments.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have experience in debt recovery and court representation, this could be the perfect role for you.

What You’ll Do:

• Represent the Council in court for recovery proceedings.
• Prepare and present legal evidence for liability orders, charging orders, and insolvency cases.
• Work closely with legal teams, enforcement agents, and other stakeholders.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and ensure debts are recovered fairly.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in court representation and local tax recovery.
• Strong knowledge of Council Tax and Business Rates legislation.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage workloads independently under pressure.
