We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our Revenues & Benefit Service as a Court Officer.

This is a key role responsible representing the Council in court proceedings, progressing recovery action, and ensuring that appropriate enforcement decisions are made in line with legislation and best practice.

You will need to have the confidence to appear before a magistrate and the ability to think on your feet. You will need to possess excellent knowledge of the legislation.

You will be require strong communication and the ability to interpret legislation and apply it effectively in a court setting.

You will work closely with internal departments, enforcement agents, and legal representatives to support the effective recovery of local taxation and related debts

As part of the appication you will required to answer 4 questions (Max 200 words per question) 

1. Please tell us about your experience of working within a Revenues or Recovery environment.
2. Tell us about your experience of preparing or attending court hearings, include key priorities and procedures.
3. Describe a situation where you dealt with a complex or vulnerable customer. How did you balance achieving recovery with providing appropriate support.
4. Give an example of how you have worked with external partners (eg enforcement agents, solicitors or courts) to achieve a successful outcome
