This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated person to join the Revenue and Benefits Support Team as a Technical Support Officer. The Support Team directly supports the Revenues and Benefits department on collection of Council Tax and Business rates and paying Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support.

As a Technical Support Officer, you will be responsible for the day to day administration of the Revenues and Benefits systems, as well as resolving reported problems from staff, involving database interrogation via SQL.

The post holder will drive improved use of the current systems, undertaking project work to introduce new technology and improve existing solutions, working to translate user need / service delivery technical goals into service design opportunities for the department to pursue.

The successful applicant will demonstrate effective and creative problem-solving skills, have good all-round ICT knowledge (including the administration of a multi-user SQL database), be self-motivated, be a team player and have excellent time management skills.

If you have experience within an IT or digital background, are a team player with excellent time management and you are looking for a new and exciting challenge, as part of a small, but integral team, we would like to hear from you. Knowledge of Revenues and Benefits is not essential as full training will be given in this area.
