Working as a Subsidy Officer within the Customer Engagement Directorate, you will play a fundamental role in producing, implementing and reviewing a robust subsidy strategy. Your role will include the following:

  • Assisting delivery of a professional, high-quality service

  • Regular production of statistical data relating to performance and expenditure

  • Reviewing Housing Benefit case histories to ensure accuracy and subsidy maximisation

  • Facilitating internal and external audit utilising specialise knowledge

The successful candidate will be motivated and detail-oriented, supporting the Finance Team Leader with the Housing Benefit subsidy grant claim and contributing to continuous service improvement. We are looking for an empathetic, flexible, pro-active individual who has an excellent knowledge of/ability to interpret Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support legislation.  You will have a desire for continuing professional development and evidence of working with others to drive service improvement.

The post will require hybrid working which includes both home and office-based working.

Our team’s core hours are as follows:

  • Monday to Thursday 8.45am to 5.15pm
  • Friday 8.45am to 4.45pm
  • Work outside core hours will be inevitable from time to time.
