We are a specialist business rates consultancy acting for a wide range of clients across the UK, including independent schools, colleges, children’s services providers and large commercial portfolios.

We are looking to appoint a Qualified Referencer to support our surveyors in preparing high-quality referencing and measurement work across a varied property base.

The Role

The successful candidate will primarily undertake desktop referencing using plans, surveys and available documentation, together with preparing measurement schedules and supporting valuation work.

While the role is largely home-based, there will be occasional travel to properties for inspections where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertaking desktop referencing of commercial properties, particularly large and complex buildings
• Preparing measurement schedules and supporting valuation data
• Interpreting floor plans, site layouts and building specifications
• Producing or amending plans using CAD software
• Assisting surveyors with inspection notes, schedules and supporting evidence
• Carrying out site inspections where necessary

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• A qualified referencer or experienced rating/property professional
• Competent in AutoCAD software and plan production
• Experienced in working with large properties such as schools, colleges, or institutional buildings
• Able to work independently in a remote environment
• Detail-focused, organised and able to meet deadlines
• Willing to travel occasionally for site visits
